Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80s

By Guitar Hero Outlet - Posted on 04 November 2007

Guitar Hero Encore Rocks the 80s is the red-headed stepchild of the Guitar Hero game series. Released in 2006 for the Playstation 2, Encore Rocks the 80s introduced no game play changes from Guitar Hero II. This version didn't win any awards, and faced some criticism for its high price and perceived lack of features.

How the game works:

Did you read the above? This version was described as a more of a genre-specific editions of the game with no new features. If I was nice I'd re-type everything we posted from Guitar Hero II, but I'd rather be rocking out on GH, so I'll just refer you to our Guitar Hero II page.

Game Play Modes:

Same stuff, different section. No new features added here. Please refer to our Guitar Hero II page for information on game modes available in Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80s.

Soundtrack:

The one shining mark of this game is also one of its most criticized features: it's soundtrack. Boasting 30 great 80s metal and rock songs, Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80s will almost make you want to thow on some spandex, tie a hankerchief around the guitar controller, and grow your hair out and hairspraying the heck out of it as you strap on your axe and rock out! However, this version also features absolutely ZERO bonus songs. For a detailed listing of songs available for rocking, please visit our Soundtrack section.
